Hello everyone. This will be the final update to Pony Tactics: Salvation. No, we did not receive any kind of cease and desist. Yes, the C&D that hit Fighting is Magic has a hand in our decision. What decision?

It has been decided that development of Pony Tactics: Salvation will end as of today. That does not, however, mean that the team behind PT:S has disbanded. This decision was motivated by Hasbro’s C&D’s to both Fighting is Magic and MLP Online. We can understand Hasbro’s position and tried to change Salvation so we could never be in their crosshair. The ever present threat of shutdown without any kind of negotiation and the forced changes needed to the game gave me pause, however.

No one wants to spend years of their life on a project that someone outside the project can shut down at any time, especially when your personal time going into it without any kind of compensation.

Don’t think this means the team is dead! Instead we have moved away from Equestria into a totally new universe with new mechanics. A large portion of our assets, from 3D models to music, will be repurposed for this new game, currently named “Spectrum Tactics” (working title).

We know that this news may push our pony fans away, but we’re willing to ruffle some feathers to work on a project that no one can take away from us. The hoops we would have to jump through to make the game Hasbro-proof would nearly turn the game into an original title anyways, so taking it the logical next step is a no brainer.

We apologize to the fans we gathered under our hype. We tried to keep hype down in case something like this happened and now we’re glad we did.
